My Tumi Messenger bag has a metal id in the flap that rubs against my Macbook Pro and caused $700 of damage. You can see the four raised bumps on the ID tag that have had their black paint worn away, the corresponding dark marks on the laptop case, and the significantly bent aluminum framing the lid button.
